-
a week-long series of events aimed to provide survivors of abuse the tools to start over and achieve financial and economic freedom; and for community members to learn how to support and engage with survivors experiencing intimate partner violence. In collaboration with the Allstate Foundation’s Moving Ahead program, participants who attend all events will receive a Certificate of Completion. The week includes virtual and in-person programs, speakers, and giveaways.
-
a virtual half-day retreat for Black survivors of intimate partner violence. This retreat is offered as a place for survivors to rest, connect, and hold space to decide how they will live in safety, care, and love, individually and collectively. Participants will experience gentle movement, meditation, journaling, and visualization.
-
engages the community in awareness and prevention by providing toolkits designed for specific groups (family, friends, neighbors), and virtual programs. We attend community events in the Charlotte area that have high rates of intimate partner violence cases.
Our Impact
Our Story
The first iteration of the Foundation, known as the Eva Lee Parker Fund, began in 2020. It started by providing emergency financial support for Black survivors of intimate partner violence. We also provided community programs such as “Domestic Violence: A Barrier to Black Liberation,” “Nourished: a virtual half-day retreat for survivors,” and monthly survivor circles. By the end of 2022, the Fund had distributed more than $40,000 to Black survivors nationwide. We are a 501(c)3 organization.
